Lobby Clock.

Gorgeous clock tower in the middle of the grand lobby at the Fairmont York Hotel. The lobby is so elegant and familiar… really makes you wonder what movies you’ve seen that have been filmed here before.

Sorry for the long hiatus guys! Unfortunately, it’s been a busy second semster of school and the photography is just starting to pick up again. More to come very soon!!

God’s Acre.

Taken at St. James’ Cemetary in Toronto and dedicated to the memory of the seven students from my high school that passed away during a horrific avalanche exactly seven years ago.

Merry Christ Day.

Merry Christmas!!! Hope you are all enjoying the holidays in the warmth of family and friends. Plus, who doesn’t love the spirit of Christmas – the sounds, the colors, the familiar nostalgic jingles when you walk through the malls, the blanket of fresh snow on Christmas morning, the annual cartoons that haven’t changed since we were kids, the Christmas themed TV episodes (especially the Christmas episodes of my favorite Soaps), the Christmas movies and the annual tradition of going to the movie theater on Christmas day with friends! I love Christmas.

This photo was taken in a church in Toronto. Lucked out with a nearby lightsource that I was able to position to create the heavenly glow in the upper left corner.

Have a fantastic Christmas everyone!

Fading Memories.

When the people, places and events that once happened start to fade into nothing more than a nostalgic dream, you realize how fleeting time is and how precious each of those moments once were. Time, itself, is stolen from us by the trivialities of life – which is ironic because even if we had more time to live life, we would likely fill it with more trivialities. I know I make this mistake all too often rather than slowing down, taking a deep breath and just appreciating who we are, where we are, and the people that are there with us.

This was taken from a past life of mine in Kingston, Ontario from an island across my alma mater, Queen’s University. Those really were the best of times – there is really nothing as sweet as the endless innocence of youth.

Church On Church.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not exactly sure if this was a church on Church St.! I truly think it was, but I must confess that all I remember was starting on Church St. to literally follow and photograph the churches of downtown Toronto… and Church St. does have some of the grandest of Torontonian churches. Along the way somewhere I captured this. So I guess for me, this is a church on Church St.

1 Spadina Crescent.

Gotta love what autumn does to the vines that adorn the old historical buildings of downtown Toronto. This building is such a cute little surprise immediately after China Town. Plus, I’m a sucker for roundabouts and this is the only one I know of in downtown Toronto other than Queen’s Park Crescent at University and College.

The Seasons Of Change.

Seas

Time is a funny thing. Take this photo, for example. Shot in Washington DC over 6 years ago, but it still feels like we were there just yesterday – oh how time can just fly by unnoticed. It’s a nice and picturesque scene, but the tonal range is so flat that (at least to me) it’s somehow quite depressing. Fitting, I think, since we’re going into exam season and all.

Castle In The Sky.

Reminds me of Mario and Luigi and their adventures through the Mushroom Kingdom jumping on clouds and journeying through all of Bowser’s castles looking for Princess Peach.

Don’t you miss the good ol’ days of Nintendo and Super Mario Bros? Oh! And Mario Kart?

Church In Toronto.

Old church in downtown Toronto. Can’t quite remember which one or where this was taken, but I love the traditional architecture of the old and enduring Gothic churches that tower brilliantly in Toronto’s busy metropolitan downtown.
