Dentantics 2010: The Laundry Lady.

The Laundry Lady.
“Gurl. He was supposed to meet me last night but he didn’t even show. I cut him, yes I will.”
“Can I get a small size shirt please?” … “How about a lab coat?… See, I gotta walk all the way over there… That’s just crazy gurl.”
Priceless. Without contest, the best skit of the past three years of Dentistry!
Thriller? Driller.
Feb 21st
Faculty of Dentistry, watch out. Dentantics 2010 presents Driller. March 11th and 12th at 7:30PM.
Every year, the third years at the Faculty of Dentistry host a theatrical production that parodies life as a dental student at U of T. This year is our year, and this photo is the result of some amazing teamwork between fellow photographer/classmate, Edwin Chang (aka Michael Jackson, above), and myself. We set up a mini studio shoot in the lobby of our Faculty and the results were stunning. To top it all off, Edwin’s processing of the final photos was fantastic, to say the least – so much so that by the time I got around to processing them, I pretty much processed them exactly the same way haha. Stay tuned because this is merely the beginning of a beautiful partnership.
Special thanks goes out to Elena, Shayna, Elias and Claire – our quintessential zombies!
Mad Science.
Nov 23rd
A vandalized lab coat was recently found in our Faculty. The dental desperado responsible for the crime decided it would be ingenious to vandalize a lab coat with… a mad scientist (of all things!). How diabolical! What a clown.
I found it absolutely hilarious. As you can see, we, dentists, are a real ‘badass’ folk. This hooligan, in particular, is not to be messed with or underestimated. Watch out laundry department, you might have met your match.
Today I Learnt How To Suture…
Oct 5th
… so I ended up suturing shut my yummy Nutella crêpe.
To all those dents out there, scope the single interrupted sutures, a continuous suture, a vertical mattress suture, a cross mattress suture and a horizontal suture. Bahahaha I know I’m actually absurd – but at least I enjoy what we do right?
(No crêpes were harmed in the making of this post.)
Drill ‘N Fill.
Sep 23rd
Was supposed to have my very first drill ‘n fill today on a real patient and not just those inanimate perfect plastic teeth that we’ve been practicing on for the past two years, as seen above. I was pretty pumped and excited, went into clinic super cheery and ready to go only to have my patient not show for the appointment. Not even a phone call to kindly cancel. Bummer.
